Stirling Engine Economics
Stirling engine economics are dictated by the capital and O&M costs
versus the value of the electric produced. The combination of low
temperature operation and maintenance features of the Stirling
engine produce a package with a very low life cycle cost.  O&M costs
are projected to be $0.006/kWh which includes all scheduled and
unscheduled visits and overhauls. Stirling engines do not have spark
plugs timing systems or require lubrication within the engine cylinder.
Overhauls can be performed on site reducing downtime and cost.

Whether the power is used internally or sold to the grid, the payback
period for the ReGen system in most applications will be between 2-3
years.
